Paige Wood was born and raised just outside of Dallas, TX and as a teenager began playing local bars and coffee houses throughout the Austin and Dallas area, ascending the stage with only her oversized Gibson and her emotionally charged, introspective narratives.  As her fan base began to grow, Paige set-out playing larger venues throughout the South and Northwest, blending acoustic songs with a more expansive and robust band sound.   Drawing on influences as far ranging as Jimi Hendrix to Nina Simone, Paige decided to assemble a band and self- record an EP.  Her most recent recordings expand on those narrative beginnings and result in music that evokes a deeper understanding of her seminal experiences.  With a lyrical and vocal style reminiscent of PJ Harvey, Fiona Apple and Chrissy Hynde, with undertones of music that call to mind the Strokes, Paige is able to transcend her earlier works, yet clearly remain true to her roots. Paige Wood currently resides in New York City and has sold more than 5,000 copies of her first EP.
